Power & projects
Bigger electrical projects start with one question: is there room?
Panel upgrades, EV chargers and lighting projects all depend on what your electrical service can carry. Here is how we work that out.
The capacity check, step by step
- 1
Read the service
Main breaker size, panel model and condition, available spaces.
- 2
List the loads
Heating, cooling, water heating, cooking, laundry, and anything you are adding.
- 3
Calculate
A standard load calculation, not a guess from the breaker numbers.
- 4
Recommend
Install as is, add load management, or upgrade the service. In writing.

Panel and service upgrades
Replacing a fuse box or an undersized panel, often moving from 100 to 200 amps. We coordinate the utility disconnect, pull the permit and schedule the inspection.
- Power is off for part of one day, usually
- Utility and town inspection scheduled by us
- New panel labeled circuit by circuit

EV charging
A Level 2 charger on a dedicated circuit, placed where the cable reaches without stretching. If capacity is tight, load management can avoid a full upgrade.
- Garage or exterior wall installation
- Charger model advice, or install yours
- Permit and inspection included

Lighting
Recessed lighting laid out to light the room, not just the ceiling, plus dimmers and fixtures that match the bulbs you will actually use.
- Layout drawn before cutting
- Dimmers matched to LED fixtures
- Patching left neat for the painter
