Studio

A small practice, on purpose.

Stillair is written as a studio of designers and installers who would rather do fewer projects properly than many projects quickly. Each home has one lead from the first consultation to the final walk-through, and that person is the one who answers when you call next winter.

Most of the work is in older homes: colonials, farmhouses and mid-century houses where the challenge is fitting modern equipment into a building that was never designed for it. The rest is new construction with architects who care where the vents go.

This is sample copy for a fictional company. A real studio would introduce its people, its training and the manufacturers it is certified with here.

Principles

  1. Measure first

No equipment is proposed before the load study is done.

  2. Hide what can be hidden

Line sets in closets and chases, never surface-run across a facade if there is another way.

  3. Say what it will sound like

Every proposal lists the expected sound of each unit at its normal running speed.

  4. Stay for the first winter

A check-in after the first cold month, because that is when real questions come up.
