Design & care

A landscape is designed once and cared for every season after.

Design

Hands holding a young plant over dark soil
  1. Site walk. Two hours on the property with you, noting slope, sun, soil, views and how water moves.
  2. Concept. A sketch plan and a few photographs of materials, to agree on direction.
  3. Plan & planting list. Measured drawings, stone and plant selections, and a phased budget.
  4. Build schedule. A season, a crew, and what happens to the lawn while we work.

Care

Gardens change. Plants fill in, some struggle, stone shifts after a hard winter. Care visits keep the design on course. Most clients choose four to six visits a year.

We look after gardens we have built first, and take on a small number of others each spring.

Planning for next season? Winter is the best time to start the design.
