Bluestone, fieldstone and granite, on compacted base with drainage built in.

Dry-laid and mortared walls, retaining walls, natural stone steps set into slopes.

Layered beds, native meadows, trees and hedges, planted at the right time of year.

Swales, dry wells and regrading to move water away from the house and soggy lawns.

Seasonal pruning, mulching and planting for gardens we have built, and some we have not.

Most projects combine three or four of these.
